Sightlines: A World Observed.

A long-form body of work shaped by travel, observation and human presence.
What I do

Photography rooted in travel, observation, and human experience.

Photographs shaped by travel, atmosphere, and human experience — moments gathered across landscapes, cultures, and environments that continue to stay with me long after leaving them behind.
I’m an ophthalmologist and photographer whose work has evolved through years of movement across remote landscapes, mountain environments, and communities in more than ninety-five countries. From early on, travel and photography became deeply connected for me through remote villages, high mountain passes, cataract outreach clinics in places like Nepal and India, and unfamiliar environments far removed from routine life.

Over time, carrying a camera became less about documenting a place and more about learning how to pay closer attention to it. Experiences working alongside cataract outreach programs ultimately led me toward a career in ophthalmology and eye surgery, while photography became a parallel way of understanding light, perception, and the way we experience the world around us. The two practices gradually became inseparable — one centered on restoring vision, the other on observing the world more carefully.

Sightlines: A World Observed

Photography has become my way of paying attention to the world — to people, light, atmosphere, and fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Much of this work was created while moving through remote landscapes, unfamiliar cities, mountain environments, and communities far from home. Over time, the photographs became less about travel itself and more about observation, presence, and perspective.

These images are an attempt to hold onto some small part of those moments.
